Starting in windowed mode

Post by xng »

I need help with how to start factorio in windowed mode.

In my config.ini I have fullscreen=false but that doesn't make any difference, every time I start up the game or toggle/update a mod I have to go back in option, then graphics, than aim for the small checkbox to turn off fullscreen and then go back all the way to the main menu again.

This process is so tedious that it takes the better part of the day just fixing the options hundreds of times if you play around with mods. The last 20 years or so games and other apps that default to fullscreen have solved this by having alt+enter as a toggle between window and fullscreen, but that does not work in factorio either.

Any way to solve this, anyone? Pretty please? With a cherry on top?

Hi, this is not common issue. Please post your log so we can troubleshoot.

Damn, just tried it in Diablo 3, Antichamber, Ori and the Blind Forest and Borderlands 2 and Alt+Enter worked in all but Diablo 3. Interesting, I didn't know this is so widespreadly used keystroke outside of Windows Media Player.

I am sorry, I've had this trouble for quite some time and for some unexplainable reason I had --fullscreen=true in launch options in steam..

So disregard that problem in my case, and sorry to bother you =)

(alt+enter would still be nice, at least for old windows users like me that take it for granted)
