construction bots repair items in chests
I think it is very natural for construction bots to repair damaged items in chests.
I think it could be very useful for repairing walls, laser tullets and vehicles.
Is this already proposed? I feel it difficult to search old proposals here..

No, this one is new.
In consequence that means, that the construction bots would also repair items in you inventory.
Like it.

Repair items in inventory or chests
After Construction robots have repaired all placed items and built anything requested, then I think they should repair items in a players inventory, and then any damaged items in any chest.
Alternative Option for Inventory repair: If the player has repair packs perhaps the inventory could repair automatically using those (over time).

I'd like to suggest a way to repair damaged walls and turrets in your inventory.
Currently the UI to repair those is terrible! They take up one slot each. Before you can repair them, you have to place them, one by one individually, opening "e" each time in between to make sure you select the next damaged one. Then you can repair them on the ground.
Using the repair tool on your inventory, or a way to auto-repair things in your inventory, would be such a great improvement over this. Thanks!

Bots Repair Damaged Items in Inventory
If you have a personal roboport and repair kits, items in your inventory should be repaired.
Good for repairing broken walls and turrets.
Then again if you have a personal roboport nearby items will be repaired anyway. Meh, take it or leave it.

Re: Repair items in inventory or chests
Autorepair while holding repair packs sounds a bit too easy and construction robots shouldn't really interact with player inventory imho. [EDIT]Interact in terms of repairing stuff in your pocket I mean[/EDIT]
Though I like the idea of manually repairing items in the inventory instead of swapping items when clicking on something damaged with a repair pack.
But there are too many things on the roadmap for such a small suggestion atm :/
Think about all the plans for Steam greenlight and new endgame content ...

Re: Repair items in inventory or chests
It is a pain in the butt not being able to at least manually repair items while they in one's inventory, e.g. Gun Turrets that have taken damage.

Repairing items inside inventory.
Currently to repair an item you have to place it on the map and spam repair packs at it. I propose that all items taken into inventory will be automatically repaired (at the normal repair rate for RP) and stacked as long as repair packs are present.

This is already a frequently suggested idea, i've added this thread to https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... 80&t=15473

Repairing items in inventory
When holding a repair pack, you should be able to repair another item in your inventory. If that item had no damage, the objects are swapped normally.

Re: Repairing items in inventory
so instead of dropping it , its just repaired? seems like a good idea i guess
Re: Repairing items in inventory
I think the issue with that is it would allow you to repair science packs? Maybe someone could confirm that the science packs are consumed using their "hp" field.

Re: Repairing items in inventory
Well, I have seen, just for fun, if I could repair a tree that I've hit with my car. Nope. It's just a matter of the devs putting a condition on the repair action.
If item = [greenScience, redScience, blueScience]: disableRepair.

Re: Repairing items in inventory
This would be nice so you don't have things with health bars and waste one space of inventory
