24 FPS !!!!

Hey there,

since a couple of weeks, factorio gets stuck at 24 fps.
I changed the version, deleted all the mods and reinstalled factorio.
I also followed other instructions such as closing chrome before starting the game.

My hardware can´t be the problem, because i can play bf1 with 80 fps....

I got a gtx 1070, 16 gig Ram , i5-6600K, SSD.

can you help me out here ? I mean with gsync it´s still playable but not ideal.

yes i was able to run the comment /c game.speed = 1.
i could try to provide save files, but even with a new game file, the fps count is at 24 fps

glad that's all it was. nvidia should have that enabled by default!

at first the fps problem was solved by impetus maximus

go into the nvidia control panel and change power management mode to 'maximum performance'.

But when i started my pc this morning, factorio has again a low fps count.
The setting in the nvidia control panel are still the same...
When i tap out of factorio, the fps count rises up to 60 fps again.

my bad,
i it´s a german expression. i thought it applied to english as well.

"tab out" means that i leave the game, without closing it.

for example i change a song or google something without closing the game.

By doing that, the fps count rises from 24 to 60.
But whrn i´m in the game again, it drops to 24 fps....

I have the exact same problem!
Just got a new video card nVidia gtx 1080, and this has the save problem.
In the game, the fps is stuck between 22-24, but if I tab out, the game instantly goes to 60 fps.
I've also tried the nvidia control panel power settings, and the console command game speed. but the result is still the same.
Hope someone knows a solution!

And just like that, I think I found the problem.
I had g-sync enabled on windowed and fullscreen. Turned it to full screen only, set factorio to be windowed, and restarted the game, now it runs at a solid 60 fps.

make profile for factorio with proper setting in nvidia control center. that should fix the problem.

since they added "game experience" or whatever they called that, there were plenty of issues with detection of games. usually creating profile for game with specific settings fixes issues.

yes, i remember the 'game experience' being pretty horrible. agree it's better to opt-out installing that, and use your own settings.
