Global matching server chat

I think the global matching server would be boosted a lot by a global chat in the matching room.

Right now, unless you are well known, you can't always start a public game and find random people interested in joining. You either have to post on reddit, here, or find some other community that has a factorio section. But with a simple single room no frills chat in the matching server you can organize quick games with people who are interested. It would help pvp and scenarios take off because people can advertise them and their availability; which helps people who make scenarios see what people like and make more scenarios.

I find from my experience with other multiplayer games, this is a very important point.
It is also - not a protection, but - a hurdle for grievers and players with too small internet-connection/PC.

Agreed. The whole online system needs a lot of the features you can find in other games. Different types of sorting and options and being able to save those preferences. Game Lobby Chat, colors in server names perhaps, being able to see ping at a glance (why does it take so long to calculate ping?)..
