Server Factorio Debian

Post by Pyroman_Goliath »

ENG

Hello everyone, I hope it's in the right section I post.
This concerns the establishment of a factorio server installation on debian linux server for local x86_x64

First I followed the installation via the wiki "https://wiki.factorio.com/index.php?tit ... ayer#Linux"
but display at the beginning of the sentence "This step-by-step guide has been verified on fresh CentOS 7 and RHEL 7 installs but should be applicable with little to no changes on most distribution."

So I continue installation
I also helped this "https://github.com/narc0tiq/factorio-updater" as well as "https://github.com/Bisa/factorio-init"

I arrive on the first issue the command "systemctl daemon reload" the server does not know the command I spend a result and when I want to start the server with the command "./bin/x64/factorio --create ./saves/my-save.zip"
I have an error message
"./bin/x64/factorio: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by ./bin/x64/factorio)
./bin/x64/factorio: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.15' not found (required by ./bin/x64/factorio)
./bin/x64/factorio: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.15' not found (required by ./bin/x64/factorio)"

Here I looked on the internet to have another tutorial and I have found nothing
Tank's :)

This step-by-step guide has been verified on fresh CentOS 7 and RHEL 7 installs but should be applicable with little to no changes on most distribution."

Voila j'ai regardé sur internet pour avoir d'autre tutoriel et je n'ai rien trouvé
Merci

You are running Debian 7 or older which doesn't have the required GLIBC 2.14/2.15 installed.

You can upgrade to Debian 8 or try this solution:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1086 ... -on-debian

Thank you for advice, I think I have managed to start the server, but I am having another problem, my client and v0.13.9 while the server is v0.13.20.
There is not a way to force the connection?
If I continue to look for information.

No. The client version must exactly match the server version.

No same version is needed, for the game and if you use mod, for the mod as well (and the mod must have the same config in server as all client), the game is determinitsic, if a server and a client don't have the same data/code, there will be desync.

Connect to you factorio account and download same version as server.

Note that 0.14.19 is the latest stable. You should update the server and the client to this version as the multiplayer was greatly improved in 0.14 update (more stable, can handle more player, ...).
Want more space restriction ? Or maybe you want to be forced to use train for other thing than ore and oil ? Try Building Platform Mod !
