Allow textfields to have multiline text entered in them or allow custom input to be specified to be detected when cursor is in text field.

The GUI system we use doesn't support multi-line text fields so there's nothing to "allow". It's simply not possible unless we re-wrote the text field widget (which might happen in 0.15 but I don't know).
