0.14.14 Headless Server Problem

Post by Eternal Tilt »

I followed this guide https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comme ... server_on/ and after updating to .14.14 I got the server to work with mods by deleting a line in the .bat file, but the server will not appear on the public list of servers and can only be connected to via ip/port. I double checked and the visibility setting is on public still so no problem there. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

This is the current text in the .bat file that works but is not shown publicly: Factorio.exe --start-server saves/newnewnew.zip -c %appdata%\Factorio\config\config-server.ini --server-settings server-settings.json

The conflicting command that I mentioned earlier and deleted was "--autosave-interval 3", which worked in the previous .13 version so something must of changed with how factorio uses .bat files.

Check your settings in server-settings.json and the path to the file. You supplied a full path for the config, but not the server settings. Many of the command line options that were in 0.13 moved to the server settings file in 0.14.

I just set mine up and had to set the autosave too.

I have the server settings .json file here "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Factorio\bin\x64" which works but is a completely different area than "-c %appdata%\Factorio\config\config-server.ini"

Also the game name and password works from the server-settings.json file, as I had a friend join and he saw the name of the game and had to put in the password, also since it's in the x64 folder it does not have to look anywhere because it is in the folder with factorio.exe, or at least I think that's why, so I don't think that specifying further will help because it would look something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Factorio\bin\x6\server-settings.json" and I think that looks wrong

So somehow the server-settings.json is being read so there is no point to specify where it is further so the issue is something else I think.

If someone can see "Test Server" in the server browser then tell me please, the server is running currently but maybe the updated changed it so I cannot view it through the public browser because of either a port issue or an authentication token issue
