TL;DR : Being able to ping the map to show a location. Like you would in Starcraft or Dota. At least show coordinates of cursor in world map or world screen.
This is my first post here, I notice this is a very very active community and I couldn't be happier. As a developer myself, I would like to congratulate both the development team and the community for the incredible work that is being done here. If I find the time later on, I will probably post somewhere else saying how happy I am to see this

Back to business. I haven't found anything on the forums mentioning this so I'm hoping this is not a duplicate. I believe the game lacks a "share location" feature. Something similar to the Alt+Clic on minimap there is Starcraft or Dota (or probably most games that have a minimap and is top-down).
The problem I'm trying to solve is only facing multiplayer (this is the only game mode I'm playing*), when you need to talk about a specific location. You most certainly have experienced that "See that copper spot? Well a bit to the east, then up north, right next to the lake". I'd rather ping the map and he would see what I'm talking about.
Here are the various concepts related to the "share location" idea I would like you guys to talk about.
- A coordinates system. I'm sure this would be the simplest, yet useful, but also the least sexy.
- Ability to ping in the world screen, and it would show in the minimap and/or in the world map, and/or on the world screen.
- Ability to add ghost markers or pins, or bookmarks to the world map. Permanent pins would definitely be useful, but I can also see scenarios where non permanent markers would be useful.
- Ability to name or add a note to those markers/pins
I think this would add a lot of simplicity to our communications, and I'm sure you can all see why if you've played multiplayer. Please consider at least the first and/or second item of my list

I can't wait to see what you guys think, and I'm surprised I didn't find this in the forums already, considering this game has been played thousands of hours already.
* I've played about 2 hours solo and 30 multi, and I enjoy this game more in multiplayer. This is the only aspect me and most of my friends really like, building and achieving something great *together*. The reason I'm insisting here, is because I've read that the focus on development is mostly on single player. The only reason some of my friends have bought the game is for the multi player. We're talking about 2 - 5 players each game, but it's what we really enjoy.
