I guess that's obvious for otherwise you have to refill them too frequently or keep whole inventory row just for belts. I keep around 300 on me even in sandbox mode where flying back to base is not that painful. I believe that should have been discussed already, but I don't know why vanilla still stacks them with just 50 as for most other frequently used items 1-3 stacks are enough.
Other candidates for increased stack size are straight rails and walls.

Not just a hundred they should be 200 or 500 the pain of carrying walls and belts is rage material especially if you are setting up new parts to your base 100 blocks away and you dont bring enough belts
Re: Transport belts should stack in numbers of 100
Or you can use a car when you are building things a few hundred blocks away from your base.

Is it not a bit weird that players can hold more parts for belts than actual belts?
Re: Transport belts should stack in numbers of 100
Actually, this is a good point. One stack of gears and one stack of iron produces 4 stacks of regular belts. That actually seems like a decent reason to make belts stack to 100. That way two stacks of input will produce two stacks of output.bobucles wrote:Is it not a bit weird that players can hold more parts for belts than actual belts?

Nice argument-chain.
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

I was actually thinking relatively recently... "Why do walls only stack to 50?"
So I agree, Belts and Walls should stack to 100.

+1
I usually keep logistics stocking me with 500 belts just because I'm -always- using them, and not always within logistic range. An outpost will easily burn through most of that on a large deposit. It's helpful now that power armour gives more inventory space but a needing whole row dedicated to belts seems a bit extreme.
Another way of addressing this is to have the much-requested feature of modular vehicles and have them act similar to the player inventory from where personal construction robots can pick up items. Could act as an extension of the personal roboport so construction bots of either player or vehicle origin can pick up items from either and use each other to extend the range (as long as they are touching).

Money might be the root of all evil, but ignorance is the heart.
