holding z should continually drop items

Re: holding z should continually drop items
Please don't misunderstand me: I don't want to remove the Z-Key function, and continually dropping items (first slowly, than faster) is also a good idea.
I just troll a bit around with the fact, that new players don't understand, why it is in general (in general!) a bad idea to use that drop-function. And in secondary I troll around that the game keybinding is still not nearly perfect, Z-key is just a synonym for other problems. Take for example the problem, when you want to take off a wrong piece of item from a running belt: I need to press AWSD and F. I'm not such a progamer, that I can handle that well. And more generally the keybinding at all, different logic for dropping and taking, different for taking one or many, different for handling inventory or other stacks.

Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

really glad this got implemented.. it now works as it should.. not instantly, not as efficient as an inserter and a chest, but at least nog RSI-inducing!

Re: holding z should continually drop items
That is not the case - just rearrange the AWSD to the up,down, left, right arrows and your done.ssilk wrote:Take for example the problem, when you want to take off a wrong piece of item from a running belt: I need to press AWSD and F. This is imho much more user friendly, convenient then the AWSD method.
no change needed.

To which keys did you rearrange it?
Attention: This is a catch question.

You are left-handed? I ask, cause I tried that kind of config many times, it doesn't work for me (right hand direction, left hand mouse).

Re: holding z should continually drop items
I don't use a mouse. I control the whole game with trackpad and keyboard only.ssilk wrote:You are left-handed? I ask, cause I tried that kind of config many times, it doesn't work for me (right hand direction, left hand mouse).
And it works just fine after getting used to.
Re: holding z should continually drop items
Well, trackpad or mouse. Doesn't matter much for me. The point is: I cannot use them in the left hand. But when you play with the trackpad on a notebook, you need to use the left hand, if you use the cursor keys for movement.brunzenstein wrote:I don't use a mouse.

I use only the right hand on the trackpad as well as on the keys only. A one hand system. Sounds funny but works.the left hand us for shift ec onlyssilk wrote:Well, trackpad or mouse. We have an idioma in French : 2 mains gauches et dix pouces, which basically translates into "Two left hands and ten thumbs". I'ts used when one's being very clumsy (especially with one's hands). Your picture totally illustrates this idioma
