Exact same issue, playing simple player, via steam. Happens on all my machines, when crafting any item.
My saves are pre 0.13.10 (most are pre 0.13).
My graphic settings differ on each, and one is AMD CPU+Nvidia GPU, while the other is Intel/Intel.

Is there any possible way to get a 0.13.10-1 release to fix this issue? I played on my save for a solid 30 min without hand crafting anything and now all my autosaves are overwritten. I know this is experimental, but if there is already a fix implemented for 0.13.11 I feel it should be trivial to release a hotfix patch for 0.13.10.

News flash: Linux users around the world are reported to be temporarily returning, often in a bleary-eyed daze, to their families and their jobs this weekend, while waiting for the latest factorio update, due to a bug that prevents the use of a popular in-game feature called "pocket-crafting." A minority of the missing linux users have remained missing, however, stating that this bug merely afforded them the motivation to finally get around to exploring other aspects of the game, where "pocket crafting" is considered by some to be a kind of embarrassing half-measure. Unfortunately for their employers and families, most of these users report that although spending time with their loved ones has been a pleasant change of pace, they expect to return to the game as soon as the bug is fixed.

Whenever I try to craft something or take an item from the ground, the game crashes completely.

Glad to see this is fixed. I thought it was a problem with my 12.x save as I just barely upgraded my headless Linux server to 13.10.
I'll wait for the update to play again.
