[Mod Portal] version number new update detection issue?

Post by kyranzor »

I got a bug report on my mod portal discussion thread,
"hi, don't know if it is a problem with this mod, or the ingame mod portal in general.

didn't update from 0.1.44 to 0.2, and there was no notification about update either, had to download manually.

just for a heads up"

Is it possible that updates from large values (transition from 0.1.44 to 0.2.0) is not detected by the in-game version comparison mechanism for determining if there is an update for a mod available?

Also noticed similar issues, even for minor version increases. Also, when the update isn't detected, you can install the new version without the standard duplicate-check stopping you (so something might be a bit off there too). When Factorio reloads after that, it'll complain about a duplicate mod, but you can then manually delete the old version through f.e. Windows Explorer, and then it'll start fine.
