How do I download mods?

I got factorio with steam but don't know how to download mods. Does anyone know how to? THX

The mod portal is only available in 0.13 (experimental). You'll need to opt in by right-clicking Factorio in your library, going to Betas and selecting experimental from the drop-down menu.

Create a Factorio account and connect it to your steam account:

• Make an account on factorio.com if you don't have one yet
• On factorio.com go to your profile page (click on your name on the top right)
• Scroll down to connect your Steam account with your Factorio account
• You can now use the multiplayer and mod portal features

If you prefer using 0.12.35 (the current stable version) then download the mods from the Mods subforum and put them into the mods folder.
Location of the mods folder: %appdata%\Factorio\mods (open the run dialog with Win+R and put that in) or see here.
