Tutorial suggestion, how to pick up machines

Post by Woode »

I'm a returning player, and forgot everything, even the basic stuff, so I"m doing the tutorial. I get to the one where I make burners and miners. They don't seem to register when I make them so I just plop them down to get the "quest" done. OK, now I'm supposed to set up some automation, so I try to move the furnaces, no go. I left click, I right click, I shift/control/alt/everything click, nothing seems to work. I check the control key bindings, no help. I check some guides on key bindings, no help.

I know now to hold the right click to "harvest" the machines, but it is not intuitive, and I don't believe anything is said about how to do it. I can imagine this simple oversight frustrating some noobs like myself.

Please add some instruction on how to pick up your machines.

Yes, I realize that there are videos out there that show this. However, when one is playing the very basic tutorial, it is frustrating to run into a problem and have to hunt for videos to find the answer.

I'm sure this is explained in the tutorial. Otherwise we would have much, much more of such questions in the support-boards.

Maybe it helps you that there are plans to have "training areas", where you can learn and repeat the basic things again and again?
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

This kind of detail doesn't need a full blown tutorial. It belongs with some kind of starting game protip.

Oh, I see that with other basics. Walking, picking up, drop down, enter, moving items between stacks and devices, how to change the keys (and how to put it back to default  )... such things.

I think to this scenario: Our hero comes in to make his pilot licence (to drive the small single person planet-landers (hint, hint)).

But before, he needs to fill out pass number A38. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIiUR2gV0xk
(sorry, but I found that only in German language).
