Multiplayers : Map generation for "split play"

Hi,

1st of all sorry if this idea was already summited, i had a quick search but found nothing.

So, with friends we are used to play all together on the same base, trying to survive and escape. Few days ago we wanted to split up in small team from a fresh start. Try to survive on our own and maybe do some "trade" later or fight for ressources (well you know where i want to go there).

Well we noticed that only the spawn area was quite "safe" and we runned far away w/o have the possibilitie to start a base out of the spawn area. That would be cool if there was a way to add an option for the map generation to have few more "safe spot" to start a fresh base and maybe also a new building in order to set up a new spawn. This building should be unlocked by science, that would force us to play safe till we unlock it.

Hope this idea not already posted but for me could be a quite cool idea to have an other play to play factorio multiplayer mode.

This would be theoretically possible in RSO.
I did run into few issues when looking into this possibility:
1. Lack of testing ability
2. Deciding/figuring out when everyone is in game and start locations for them
3. Potential issues with figuring out what to do when starting location is on the water etc (aka rng problems)

I looked into making more start areas and this would be not a big issue I think.
Providing solution for 1 and 2 I would be willing to try to do an implementation if there would be a big enough interest.

It's not possible to create a building to save a new spawn location?

It could work well with multiple safe spot and be a fix for the point 2.
