Where are the oceans?
Where are the oceans?
It it just me or does the water slider not do too much in the new world generation? It now seems to generate mostly just puddles. On 0.12 maps used to have much larger bodies of water.
Re: Where are the oceans?
If you want bigger bodies of water you have to lower the terrain segmentation. The water slider only determines the weight of how often water appears as one of the possible terrain segments (like grass, sand, etc.). The terrain segmentation slider changes the size of those segments: low segmentation creates fewer large areas, high segmentation creates many small areas. Use the two sliders together to get the amount of water area that you want.
EDIT: here's my current map generated in 0.13, I used the chart command to show a large area of the map:

I don't recall the exact settings, but it was at least low segmentation and big water.

Re: Where are the oceans?
Ignore the previous reply. The terrain generation in 0.13 is bugged and the devs know we don't like it but won't fix until more important issues are sorted out first.
