Laser turrets do not attack opponent buildings ?

Hi,

I never notice that before, but is it normal that, in PvP, laser turrets does not attack classical buildings of an opposite force ?
They attack the enemy player, but not buildings... Turrets are very useful in PvP, why can't they attack buildings of the opposite factory if the goal is to destroy the factory ?

Please provide a save file and screenshots.

Turrets most definitely do attack enemy structures as biter spawners are structures and turrets will attack them.

Turrets attack only "military" targets ... they won't attack belts, assemblers, mining drills, etc.

Yes, that's what I noticed. example on the map attached for rseding.

On the map, 2 forces. You have turrets od force f2 that should attack storage tanks from force f1.
Note that turrets attack player 1 if you go too close.

But why ?
When we play PvP, we want to destroy opponents structures to go inside other player base. And at end-game level, guns and tanks are not enough. We have to build turrets with blueprints to approach enemy factory and enter his walls and unstabilize its production.

As a turnaround, is there a way for modders to make a non-military building "military", so that he can be targeted by turrets ?

Unfortunatelly, entity types that are considered for targets are hardcoded and cannot be changed from mod. As far as I know it is this way for performance reasons.
Maybe turrets could be moddable so they could search for any entity from opposing force, I'll add it to our team proposals.

Thanks for your proposition Posila.
A lot of multiplayers are trying PvP to get a little spice in MP, and as Factorio is about automation, even the destruction should be completely automatable, no ? ;-)
