[All Versions] D3D frame skipping
Anyone else know about this?
Basically it just seems as if the game skips a frame or something, it basically just stutters for a split second. Pretty noticable though.
Can supply a video if needs be.
I tried opengl and it is WAY smoother with opengl. Except my settings never save with opengl so i'd rather not use it..
I should note the game runs at a SOLID 60fps at all times.

and I mean my settings don't save between load ups of the game if I have it in opengl (whcih reduces the frame skipping). So I will tick Fullscreen, close my game, reopen it, and I will have to tick it again for it to work in fullscreen. Same with hotkey settings too.
When I put it back into D3D though all my hotkeys still worked. It's as if opengl wasn't loading up my config? Not 100% sure.

Re: D3D frame skipping
I see you're playing multiplayer.
Can you enable the multiplayer time stats and the normal performance stats debug options and make a video with those visible and it happening?

Thanks for the reply.
I'll work on getting you that information in a short while. But I should note that this issue isn't exclusive to multiplayer and also affects SP.

Re: D3D frame skipping
Hey I am sorry it took so long, I ended up being pretty busy and didn't play any factorio.
but after playing it last night I got the debug menu during it
https://youtu.be/tc6uQqzWDvc
As a note it seems I can force it to happen if I place a YouTube video.
and as I said it still shows 60fps, and also happens unmodded and on SP.

Re: [All Versions] D3D frame skipping
I'm not seeing any skipping in the video you uploaded...

Yes, I'm in the seeing the same thing with a few moments of the frame rate and game getting really slow. Not sure if I see a rhyme or reason yet. But, I think it happens more when I zoom in while running.. Removed all mods.. single player.. Nothing built.. If I run I can get a little stutter here and there. More so with stuff built. My system shouldn't be a problem... I am on two 970's in SLI.. if that might be an issue.. Maybe I'll take that off.. used to not be a problem at all. Was hopping it was a mod.. or something that would go way with the new version. O and I'm on the latest experimental. 0.13.14
Still love the game.. Just letting you know. I'll try to get a video also.
I'll try to get a video also.
*UPDATE*
Added --force-opengl to the steam launcher and it seems to be nice and smooth.

Re: [All Versions] D3D frame skipping
It might be the recent removal of vsync for d3d mode - it's caused bad stuttering for me that seems a bit random. When you see the slowdowns is game fps/ups still showing 60/60 in F5 debug screen?
