[0.8.8] I can't make Steel Plate in campaign.

Hi.
I'm new to this game.

I can't make steel plate in campaign.
The game is base/New hope level2.

This level already researched Steel Processing at start,
but Steel plate is not shown in Crafting menu.

I play this game in Mac OSX Mavericks.

Is this a bug?

Steel is made by smelting iron plates in a furnace. In 0.9 there's finally an entry for it in the crafting(but it's always red, because you're not a furnace)

I never played 0.9, but I think new presentation is more easy to understand to newbie like me.
