Personal Roboport
Personal Roboport
I have 3 roboports in my modular armor and 20 constructions bots in my inventory. When I'm near a damaged structure a bot will fly out and repair it but when it returns to me it just hovers nearby and doesn't go back into my inventory. When I hover over the bot it's just slowly losing energy and I have to right-click it to pick it back up. What am I doing wrong that it does this? Thanks!
Re: Personal Roboport
The roboports have to "charge up" in your armor. You can see this by hovering over the roboport. Either you don't have enough power or they are charging very slowly. The bot's can't charge until the port is charged.
Re: Personal Roboport
Ah yes, I see now that none of them are charged but can't figure out how to charge them... I just made a battery and put it in the armor as well but the battery doesn't have any power either. Sorry for the dumb questions but how do I charge my armor modules?
Re: Personal Roboport
The item has a power requirement. You need personal fusion reactors really. You could use solar but it may not be enough.
I usually run two Roboports, 2 reactors, and fill the rest with legs. Ill build a second one for shields.

Re: Personal Roboport
Solar power and batteries aren't going to help at all. You basically need fusion power to recharge the drones. Personal roboports have an internal battery which you can view on the armor screen.
If you walk around the drone WILL use extra energy to chase you and recharge. They don't actually latch to the suit and don't stop consuming idle energy. With solar power this can make it seem like recharging takes forever, because you're burning their energy faster than it can be produced. Simply pick up the bots by right clicking to harvest them back. They can be used again without delay or issue.
That last bit is probably a bug or at least a simple oversight.
