I have to agree that fighting of "bitters" (whatever they are called I find extremely annoying. Now that I have read there is a checkbox to turn them off I will try again. My suggestion would be to not have them at all until you build a pistol. No pistol = no enemy.

And the logical reason for them suddenly emerging everywhere on the map because somewhere someone managed to put some pieces of iron together is what exactly?

People, please stay neutral. No personal attacks. Anyone may dislike the game and express why. The OP may have beel slightly off limits by expressing his dislinking of the game, but a little off limits is acceptable as long as there are no personal attacks.

Ok setting peaceful_mode=true doesn't seem to work as I am still getting killed. Yes, I killed offed units.

Also, where is this peaceful checkbox? I started new campaign and still don't see a way to stop them.

It's only available in the Sandbox mode. If you are in the Campaign you have to deal with them

Ok, I will try to deal with them. Finally got a gun turret to build but how the heck do you load ammo into it?

You click the turret and place ammo in it from your inventory. Or you can feed ammo in from a chest or belt with an inserter

I recently played the campaign and found it to be a fun level of challenge. The biter nests were nasty, but no problem against a turret crawl.

But 0.13 is coming, so I guess it's kind of okay.
