This mod adds more advanced versions of various machines. Currently, the list includes:
- Solar Panels
- Accumulators
- Electric Mining Drills
- Electric Furnaces
- Refineries
- Chemical Plants
- Boilers
- Steam Engines
To go along with the Refineries and Chemical Plants, also: - Pipes
- Pipes to ground
- Storage Tanks
- Small Pumps
- Offshore Pumps
Little additions: - Substation MK2 - compact version of a Substation. Twice the power range and wire reach.
- Fast Long Handed Inserter - twice as fast as the Long Handed Inserter.
- Advanced Repair Pack - compact version of a Repair Pack. Twice as fast and durable, 4x more expensive.
- Ultimate Repair Pack - Four times as fast and durable, 4x more expensive than the advanced one.
- Each machine has it's own color-coded, MK2, MK3 and MK4 version. MK2 is Green, MK3 is Yellow and MK4 is Blue (and MK5 is Purple).
- Each next version works just like there would be 2 previous machines in one, so that it's twice as fast, uses up twice the energy and produces 2x the pollution.
- Crafting recipe for the next version of a machine needs 2 of the previous versions of machines + some resources. For ex. Electric Furnace MK3 is made of 2 Electric Furnaces MK2 and some additional resources, MK4 version is made of two MK3 machines, and so on.
What can I do with this mod
What can I do with this mod
You can make your base more compact of course Because each higher version of machine behaves just like it's two lesser counterparts, you can for ex. tear down your solar farm, and rebuild it using the MK5 versions. It will be 256x more space-efficient.
Take a look at this example. Here is a typical tile-able Solar Farm with 768 Solar Panels (there was 4 more where I'm standing) and 704 Accumulators:
Here is the same Solar Farm, but made using the Solar Panels MK2 and Accumulators MK2:
It's 4 times smaller than the original one, but has the same power output and capacity
The same Solar Farm made with MK3's would look like this:
With MK4:
And MK5 (with some MK4):

All Solar Farms above have the same power output and accumulator capacity, they are just build using higher versions of Solar Panels and Accumulators.
Same thing you can do for ex. with Electric Furnaces to make compact smelting areas, or Refineries and Chemical Plants, to make smaller oil processing areas:
The possibilities are endless

Boilers and Steam Engines
Boilers and Steam Engines
I've added compact versions of Boilers and Steam engines to my mod in version 1.2.0.
- Boilers are more efficient with each tier, currently it goes like this: 50%(original) -> 66,6%(MK2) -> 83,2%(MK3) -> 100%(MK4)
- Higher tiers of Steam Engines are able to run faster, when supplied with more steam. This unfortunately breaks the 1:15:10 ratio, so you need to redesign your steam power system a little bit.

Known Issues
Known Issues
- I had to change the graphics for the Small Pump to make it more distinguishable from the MK4 version
- The 1:(14)15:10 ratio is a little bit broken for MK3 an MK4 versions of boilers and steam engines, due to lack of pressure. Please use shorter versions (like 1:7:5)
