I suggest to make it possible to empty existing pipes and tanks with pumps completely, so that one pipe can be used for several fluids after cleaning the previous out.

But yes, if you have mixed the stuff up, you really want this. But the devs said they want to rewrite the liquid network code with v0.14, so I would say you need to live with it.
