In addition to the many suggestions to have weapons and utility's implemented in tanks and cars (like you can do with power armor).
I like to make a suggestion for a sort of remote control option/utility/item.

IF you place this in tanks you can have a small formation of tanks wich apart from the tank you drive would also shoot enemies on sight.

For example if you have a triangle formation (you would off course be in the back of the square) all tanks in front of you will drive to the place to follow the formation.


The reason i suggest this is because late game tanks are quite useless compared to shielded power armor shotguns and combat drones and that's a shame since tanks are very awsome!

I think I prefer the existing combat drones to this idea, primarily because tanks are very dangerous to drive! Something trying to autonomously retain formation and wrecking whatever part of my base that I drive past is a scary thought.

You really drive a tank into your base?
I make some sort of garage ext to my base with seperate walls.
The tank never comes near my base

However it is just an idea so you can also have on end game more ways to your liking to kill the evolved biters.
Having to use the shields with shotgun and destroyer bots because otherwise you won't make it is kind of lame.

It's kind of hard not to once the base gets large enough!
If you preserve some clear roads it's not so bad. I use a 4-tile wide pattern, usually can sail through without hitting anything.
Same problem though, I don't trust AI things to not wreck stuff, or just plain get stuck because the average base is sorta cluttered.
