Long Description
Please note that this is my first mod, and while I have considerable programming experience already, making this mod was a definite learning experience for me. I have no reason to believe this mod would crash your game or hurt your save in any way, but please let me know of any bugs or simple errors that I may have overlooked when testing. Any suggestions on helping fix up this forum post would also be appreciated, I know this page is pretty ugly right now. Anyways, hope you enjoy the mod and have fun killing some biters!This mod adds 5 new weapons to the game, and 5 respective ammo types. All weapons are "laer weapons", meaning they shoot some form of a laser projectile. Of the 5 weapons, 3 of them are balanced for late-game to endgame use, and the other two weapons are just for fun and must be spawned in via console (they are cheaty weapons).
List of weapons -
Laser Assault Rifle - works kind of like the submachine gun, but shoots lasers. Does moderate damage, but can be upgraded to do fairly high damage that will be effective against third tier enemies.
Laser Shotgun - similar to the vanilla shotgun, but fires 10 laser projectiles with each shot. This is unlocked at the same time as the laser assault rifle, and its performance is comparable.
Gattling Laser - with fully upgraded damage, this is definitely an endgame weapon. Like you might except, it fires a barrage of lasers in the direction you are pointing, which cover an area similar to a shotgun, and do massive damage. Very effective for storming enemy bases and bulldozing them.
God Cannon - Basically, it shoots like 60 lasers per second that each do 30 damage. In practice, it looks like green bullets spraying all over the screen and murdering everything. Very fun, but very broken. No recipe or tech for this, if you want to play with it you can cheat it in. item name is god-cannon.
God Cannon Shotgun - Shoots the same projectiles as the god cannon, but in shotgun form. Great for clearing forests, leveling your own base, and of course slaughtering the natives. Have to cheat this one in too. Item name is god-cannon-shotgun
I made the weapons decently expensive to craft, much more than the base guns in the game. Ammo is also somewhat expensive, especially the gattling laser ammo. This decision was made because these are powerful weapons, and shouldn't be available to use without some cost to balance it. I made the recipes with the idea in mind that most users would set up automated production for ammo, which is a fair challenge because the ammo requires batteries and circuits. I believe its a fair price to pay for use of the gattling laser, which is very effective in smashing enemy bases. Of course I am open to suggestions on balancing, so if you have an idea of changes that could be made to recipes (een tech recipes, like how many science packs are needed) please leave a comment or send an email to huskydrakusdev@gmail.com
