Right now when we want to connect entities A,B,C,D, we just take wire, click LMB on A, then on B, C and D, and it's great.
But when we want to connect A with B and C with D, then we have to grab wire click LMB on A, then on B, press Q (wire go back to inventory), grab wire again and click LMB on C and D.
With many entities it's very inconvenient.
My proposition is to add RMB while holding wire to disconnect it from last entity.
So when we want to connect A-B and C-D then we grab wire, click LMB on A, then on B, RMR to disconnect holding wire from B, and LMB on C and D.
It just skip that requirement to pressing Q and taking wire from inventory every time.

Re: Disconnect wire from last entity by clicking RMB
Actually in 0.13 you can use Q (clear cursor).
From the changelog:
- Clear cursor first cancels the current action (rail building, wire dragging), and only removes the item from the cursor when pressed again.

Re: Disconnect wire from last entity by clicking RMB
Does this also work with blueprint creation / deconstruction planner? Right now when you notice you started wrong and press Q the deconstruction planner goes back to the inventory and you need to select it again. It would be nice if it also only cancels the current action there.Twinsen wrote:Actually in 0.13 you can use Q (clear cursor).

Re: Disconnect wire from last entity by clicking RMB
This has changed with one of the last updates. I randomly stumbled 3 days ago over this new feature.
Select blueprint, shit, one tile too much, pressing Q. Uh? I don't loose the blueprint? Cool.

Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

Just tested with 0.12.33.ssilk wrote:This has changed with one of the last updates. I randomly stumbled 3 days ago over this new feature.

If I press Q while dragging the blueprint/deconstruction planner it puts it in my toolbelt/inventory, instead of cancelling the action and keeping it in the hand.
You probably mean that after releasing the blueprint, you can press E on the Blueprint icon setup dialog, then the window closes and you still have the empty blueprint in hand.
Re: Disconnect wire from last entity by clicking RMB
Hm. Indeed. I mixed that up. I'm stupid.
