It's difficult to do an apples to apples comparison, since even removing inserters to go back below 120 doesn't make the mod work again under 0.3.2 (so the numbers for that version doesn't have the mod doing any useful work). Did they rotate correctly by the way? I've looked over the code and now don't think the simultaneous rotation was done correctly as well.
I've been using that ~= because it seemed to me that it should be faster. This day I know there are other things that in that code that don't make it fastest much more than that arithmetic.
I'll release the updated version now, thanks for the help. Since you've probably got a sizable base with those, could you note the old and the new update times of the mod?

And yup, it allowed me to rework my "warehouse" stations where each pickup spot has about 20-30 different resources spread across 32 chests. In the old layout I had to do dedicated chests (although I used long inserters so I had 64 inserters). Anyway, it's waaaay nicer with the smartloaders.
The one thing that would be really nice to have would be a Bob's Mods Express version though.
