[Pending] multiplayer error

So my friends, my brother, and I are trying to play a 4 person multiplayer game on factorio. Note that my brother and I are in the same house so we are on the same router. My brother as port forwarded so we can host. (My brother is hosting on a mac, and I am also on a mac) Anyways, our 2 friends connected fine using the IP, but it refuses to allow me to connect giving me this error: following peers are not responding: unknown username, unknown username

And then it quits me out of the server. Is there any way too fix this?

Please post the log and all the server settings your brother made on setup. It is not clear from your post, why you think this is a bug.

Are you trying to connect with the local IP address while your friends are connecting with your external IP? Does it work if everyone connects with your external IP?
