Hi,
I don't know where else to post this but, basically all of the servers i've tried so far I can ping with a decent time (always <100) however after a period of time my upload will max out between 300-500kbps from what is a stable 60kbps up 120kbps down. This then causes my ping time to become 300ms+ and cause lag for everyone else on the server so I have to leave really, speaking to others in the servers and they say they are only uploading 4-20kbps. I've checked all things I can think of that might be downloading or uploading in the background and I cant see any so i'm kinda stuck?
Any help would be great

Number 1: Distance. Are you playing within EU if you live in EU ? Or US within US? It's really not recomended to play cross-atlantic on a LAN-Beta. 
Number2: I know you said it but, background downloads. It could be windows update. Torrents, steam updating.. Anything.
Number 3: If you are in EU. Play within EU. Its Simple. Play as closeby as you can. Preferably within the same city.
Number 4: Millisecond settings. This is a thing you set when creating a game/host. You actually setting the LAG interval depending on what players you expect to have.
Hope this give you something to go on. To be honest i just quickly read your post and thought of these advices.

1) Only Eu to Eu, if the server is above 100ms when I ping I don't join.
2) I've got 2 monitors open and there is nothing before going on Factorio, not even svchost (2-10kbps).
3) Atm thats not really practical with servers being few and far between but I don't think its the issue here either.
4)I'm not hosting any of these games, these are servers like Bisa and Daniel34.
