[0.12.26][cube][P] Players can't connect to headless server
Hello everyone,
I have been working on getting a private headless server set up for awhile now -- browsing the forums for help -- and everything is in working order, except for one thing: When players connect, the server logs show that there are two connection attempts that seemingly cancel each other out. This has happened for 2 or 3 different people trying to connect to my server so I think the problem is server-side rather than client-side. It appears to be a bug because I really don't think there's any way for two connection attempts to happen from one client at once.
Enclosed is the log file (it's really long because I had the server open for quite some time).
Thanks for the help in advance.

My Steam will not update Factorio, that's the only problem.kovarex wrote:Please, try 0.12.27.
EDIT: Alright I updated to the latest version and the same thing is still happening. I will attach the log file.

Can anyone help me with this issue?
Re: [0.12.26] Players can't connect to headless server
I have never been able to really understand what's going wrong reading one of Factorio's logfiles . I'll let the devs have a look ^^
Koub - Please consider English is not my native language.

Sounds good. I've been trying to play this game with friends for days.

We have made one additional fix, can you try it in 0.12.28?

This is still version 0.12.27, version 0.12.28 is just being released, it should be online in few hours, sorry for the confusion.KoblerMan wrote:Nope, still not working unfortunately. Attached is the log file.

Re: [0.12.26] Players can't connect to headless server
Can you and your friend both try if you can connect to public servers without problems?
EU vanilla server: 188.165.250.160
US vanilla server: 107.172.11.210

Yes, we can both connect without any issues. As I said before I think this is a server-side problem rather than client-side.daniel34 wrote:Can you and your friend both try if you can connect to public servers without problems?

Still waiting for more help on this problem.
Re: [0.12.26] Players can't connect to headless server
I see connection requests going from your client to the server and the server sending replies, but it looks that the replies never make it back. Can you check your firewall settings? Can you swap client and server locations for a test?
