[0.12.29] Instant crash due to Logitech QuickCam

Post by Paxinox »

Description:
The game crashes at 2 or 10% loading, and it gets interrupted from even creating a config-file. Crash report says little to nothing.
I learned that a file from Logitech QuickCam "LVPrcInj.dll" causes this issue, so I uninstalled Logitech QuickCam and the game loads fine.
But I use this webcam from time to time, so I hope you can fix this in the near future.

How to reproduce:
Install Logitech QuickCam software, and run the game. it freezes at 2% or 10% loading and then crashes.

Expected behaviour:
Game should not conflict with Logitech QuickCam files as it doesnt have a function for any webcam.

Current behaviour:
With Logitech QuickCam installed, the game crashes, and the crash report says little to nothing about the real reason.

Tested on
0.12.29
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Webcams/D ... 849/page/2 second to last post on that page.

Try updating to the latest version of that software. It looks like the issue isn't related to Factorio at all but the faulty implementation of what the software was doing.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
