Maxed CPU on client causes desyncs

Post by Blaster »

I've been running a non-modded Factorio server on my home server, and we're approaching endgame. The problem is, desyncs are happening more often now. I've been getting desyncs even on a AMD FX-8350 desktop, because when the Factorio thread hits 100 percent CPU, it desyncs with the server. And when it redownloads the map, it immediately desyncs again because -guess what- 100 percent CPU. I've raised the latency all the way up to 380 to reduce the problem, but it just keeps getting worse as the world gets more complex.

Note for the perfectionists: 100 percent CPU usage is referring to 100 percent of one CPU core, as Factorio is not (to my knowledge) multithreaded.

I don't think the cpu being run at max should cause desyncs, but posting the desync report, along with any mods you may be using, could help identify the problem.

This is the desync report from my tablet. I will pull the one from my desktop.

I have increased latency to 450, which now produces considerable lag, but stops desyncs from happening.
