[MOD 0.12.26] Laser Beam Turret

Download for 0.13 version - Compatible with Bobs mods

This mod changed the way laser turrets fire,

Well I guess the playthrough without laser turrets I wanted to try will have to wait :D
This looks like pure awesomeness, can't wait to try it.

It's not as far as I can see. Either bobingabout or Klonan would need to add the compatibility.

Considering that those look like pure awesomness it's not a big problem :D

You could try to detect presence of bobs mods and change recipes - not sure how much of work that would be.

Is this visual only ? Not altering vanilla power/damage/speed ? I hope so.

Haven't used it (yet), but couldn't resist looking at the code. I think you should check for creation of ghosts of your beam turrets and replace them with the ghost for the normal turret (as the upgraded turrets are not craftable) so you can still use blueprints?

Oh yep, good idea,
I did the same for when entities died, but it slipped my mind for blueprints

but but, the turret dmg upgrade is global. i assume there wont be rainbows when biters attack? :D

Love this mod!

Can I request to add compatibility with Factorio Basics' Laser Turret Mk. 2? I now find myself reluctant to use those, even when I can spare the energy for them, because they don't look as cool as these. XD

Maybe the Mk 2 beams could be brighter as well?

Error in head: additive-soft is unknown sprite blend mode
Modifications: Laser_Beam_Turret_Simple"


Such is the error message I receive upon running the game.
Could anyone tell me why?

Should be 0.12.3 still, as I've disabled the auto update out of fear of losing compatibility with the mods I use (which are mostly small mods that do not touch the vanilla game, nor the laser turrets for that matter).

Solved it (sorry!), I found the relevant line, then compared it with the vanilla; removing the -soft part did the trick (for me the vanilla doesn't have that bit).

You should really try to update, most mods are updated to support 0.12.27 now

Is there any reason why these turrets only deal 10 damage instead of 20 (regular laser turret)? Makes them look pretty weak against behemoths!
