Thanks, but there is no 'Application' or 'Programme' folder in Library. It's currently in /Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Factoriobrunzenstein wrote:Wrong place - put it where all other Apps are to be hosted - in theold_survivor wrote:The thing it said to copy and paste is....

'Application' or in German 'Programme' folder
Ok thanks for your help anyway, besides putting it in applications caused it not even to launch steam says theres a missing executablebrunzenstein wrote:Sorry - I downloaded Factorio direct from the developers website to support the small team - installment could be different if you buy from Steam as they require their own software to be in place to run any of their hosted programs (very inconvenient especially if their servers are hacked or down)
- I hope someone else can help you
Try downloading again from Steam and start over. For the Mac you have to install the Steam program first before you can run any program offered from them. For running any software from Steam its mandatory that their server can check with their proprietary SW if you bought from them and for update - you see why I stay away from steam...old_survivor wrote: Ok thanks for your help anyway, besides putting it in applications caused it not even to launch steam says theres a missing executable
Ah ok.... yeah. Ah well, I'll re-intall steam see how it goes, be back laterbrunzenstein wrote:Try downloading again from Steam and start over. On my truly vintage MacBook late 2008 Factorio runs smoothy as can be.
The problem now which will be solved shortly is nothing compared to the problems waiting for you when the program willold_survivor wrote: Ah ok.... yeah. Ah well, I'll re-intall steam see how it goes, be back later
Ahh at least thats good to know.brunzenstein wrote:The problem now which will be solved shortly is nothing compared to the problems waiting for you when the program willold_survivor wrote: Ah ok.... yeah. Ah well, I'll re-intall steam see how it goes, be back laterinstalled.
Its 100% stable on the mac but it is as fascinating as demanding - you have to squeeze a little bit with preparing the mac to the given keyboard short keys - but I did not find a single bug after ruining Factorio for many hours now - as a blood beginner thought.
Yeah ok. Thanks for the helpbrunzenstein wrote:I would contact the developers right away.
The developers are very helpful and swift in reply
Code: Select all

HaHa I'll try not to get too attached xDbrunzenstein wrote:Download the Demo from the developers website - It runs perfect. Its a scaled down version of the original but it gives you in the meantime a pretty good feeling how the beautiful beast (ok - the graphics has a much of late 1979) works.
And kiss your wife and your job goodby as you will loose both if you get addicted like me to Factorio.
My wife is already asking for good lawyer
To late!old_survivor wrote: HaHa I'll try not to get too attached xD
