How to change the build order?

Hi all, I'm new to this game and have a question:

How do I change the build order?

I tried dragging the icons, but it doesn't work.
Now, when I have queued up a bunch of things and need something first, I need to remove everything from the queue, add the new object, and then put everything back in the queue. Trying to remember what was in the queue is hopeless.

How do I do this before I lose my mind?

You can't. The only solution is to build common items in assembling machines, and hand craft a few special items.

A simple 'queue as first' button would suffice.
I hope this can be fixed in a patch. It shouldn't be too much work for the developers right?

It doesn't matter how much work it is. If the devs feel that it would not be a better gameplay element then they won't add it.

Something like this has been requested before several times but has not been added yet.
