So my friend and I have been playing on a Creeper Host server he rented. Today there was an update on Steam to 0.12.25 and the server is running 0.12.24. As you can probably guess we're getting the version mismatch error when joining. Now my problem is the Creeper Host panel tech is out for a few days, so at the moment we're stuck.
Here is what the Creeper Host tech support guy told me...
Now I'm going to try what he suggested, but at the moment my internet is acting really slow so its taking quite a while just to download it onto my computer. I'm worried about the uploading it back to Creeper Host taking even longer...If you wish you can follow the steps at https://wiki.factorio.com/index.php?tit ... ayer#Linux to replace your current server files with the update (except for the save file) and you should then be able to run it normally from the panel.
Otherwise it will be a few days until our panel tech gets back and updates the installer for it.
I'm open to any suggestions on things I can do for this issue or things I can do to prevent it in the future besides waiting for the panel tech...
One thing I'd like to suggest and I may shoot this at the suggestion section is... I know that there is some sort of control developers have over what update Steam updates our games to through the beta system. It might be nice if we're given a beta code that rolls back one update or something like that. Or maybe instead of deleting old versions they're moved into a file we can use.
Anyway thanks in advance for any replies.
