Hello!
So I bought this game with two of my friends but we haven't been able to play all three together at once.
After trying port-forwarding, making the windows firewall accept Factorio and even disabling the firewall for both the Router and my computer, it is still not working.
Any help regarding this situation would be deeply appreciated, as I don't particularly enjoy the thought of having spent 20 Euros on a great game with unnecessarily complex/confusing multiplayer setup requirements to the point where I can't even play.

If I understand correctly you are behind router and trying to be the server.
That means you need to do one (or two) things - add port forwarding role to your router for Factorio port and most likely set up so taht you have always same IP address (to make port forwarding work properly). How to do both of those things - check the manual of your router.

I strongly advise testing your port forwarding using a tool like http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
I'm under the impression that only the person hosting needs port forwarding. Others just need to make sure their firewall is set correctly.
If you are still having problems, or are unable to set up port forwarding, give Evolve or Hamachi a go. They'll work around any port issues for you.
