Hi,
Played the demo just fine, and enjoyed it so I bought the game. Trying to play through the campaign starting from the beginning again, and it keeps crashing with this error message. I've attached a log file.
Not changed any options other than the UI scaling to 150% as I'm running on a 3440x1440 monitor. Also tried with the UI at 100% and its still crashing.
Thanks for taking a look at this.

Re: unexpected error - crash
I haven't seen this kind of crash before.
Try to set Factorio's launch options in Steam to "--force-opengl"
EDIT: Do you use any kind of overlays? For example MSI Afterburner, FPS counter from Fraps, ... anything like that?

Re: unexpected error - crash
I get the same issue/error log, and adding force opengl does not resolve it.
In the meantime I'm saving regularly...

No overlays. I have afterburner loaded for profile access but it's minimised in the system tray.posila wrote:I haven't seen this kind of crash before.

Tried the force OpenGL and that seems to work ok but I skipped the early campaign levels as I'd completed them in the demo anyway. Will try those early missions again tomorrow up in case the problem reoccurs

Re: unexpected error - crash
I had this exact same problem, the opengl fixed it for me.posila wrote:I haven't seen this kind of crash before.

Re: [0.12.24 steam] [posila] unexpected error - crash
Hi, we haven't been able to reproduce the issue. We tried it on several HW configurations, always running Steam version with MSI Afterburner (and RivaTuner overlay enabled), but never got a crash or any other problems. So, new theory is that the problem is not caused by having Steam overlay and some other overlay, but it is probably related to something MSI Afterburner does. How do you have MSI Afterburner configured? What GPU settings do you change?
