Came by some guy in the server, it was quite a weird conversation (Crude chat log):

Oppo joined the session
Swaglag (Me): Hey
Swaglag: ` < This is key to chat
Oppo: hey this US server?
Swaglag: `Yes
Oppo: dammit, cya dued, ill be back if US is dead
Swaglag: `???
Oppo has left the session


Was quite weird.

He's talking about the EU multiplayer server. EU being Europe.

At the time of publishing, some jackasses griefed the whole base. Could you please do something bout it? I dont really know who it was, but at the time there were two people around named "ben" and "nubleh".



(EDIT: I found out it was "ben", but further investigation is recommended, just to be sure.)

It's a public server without any real way to police it. It'll become a big enough issue that the devs will deal with it but regardless we will have to wait until 0.13

As for what I can do right now I'm sorry to say it's almost nothing. I can roll back the saves a few hours but as I have no way to login to check if it's griefed it's a pain.

Changed the latency from 100 to 150. Eventually I'll code something to kick/ban anyone with a high ping. Please check your ping before you connect to the server.

Jacobejacke and Orange are blowing things up and destroying people's hard work, as well as killing people out of nowhere. A handful of other people can attest to this. Please ban these idiots.

A friendly reminder- If you're from Europe or elsewhere, it would be better for you if you find servers near you. It will take 5-10 minutes to load the map, and you'll get really bad lag. It affects everyone on the server just as bad. There are at least a couple private vanilla servers in the EU, same gameplay much less lag for you!

Just as a fair warning to all would-be griefers: There was a griefer on last night (Monster2) who chose to damage the fledgling base with grenades. He continued to do it after a warning and so was banned from the server and is now no longer able to login.

Saw you had 7 people on just now, that's cool. I thought about connecting but it was a bit laggy so I left right away in case it was me. F5 only showed 10-20 delays per person, but with so many people, maybe it all adds up to make things jerky. If everyone is showing 10-20 slow packets consistently, perhaps the latency needs raised above 150.

The latency is currently sitting at 200. Personally I think anything above 200 feels kinda slow opening chests and other things that latency hiding doesn't hide. I can make it higher and higher but seems more like a bandage than a solution.

Yeah. I had moved it to 150 then bumped it up again to 200 due to some people on the west coast having routing issues to the server. I would still prefer people to have 150 or below that way there is some headroom for routing issues or some other issue.
