Running Factorio For the first Time

Hi Guys i have recently bought the factorio game and i have successfully downloaded it however when i go to launch the game on my laptop it loads until 36% and then it says"An error has occurred "And i have tried downloading the 32 exe file and the 64 exe however they both do the same does anyone have a sollution?

how do i find them because idk and im on laptop windows 7 ultimate?
