Fire Hack

Would it be possible to make a melee weapon with other damage than physical? I'm thinking like a torch to burn spawners or a poisonous thing you can stick in the spawners to kill them?

Or just an enchanted Fire Sword of Mayhem.

A sword that would be equiped in the tool slot would be interesting. I would like to try to code this(I'm new) if you can get the graphic(s)

Sorry, I'm not a graphics guy. I suggest we use the normal hack, fix the code, then when it works we try to get someone to do some graphics?

While you could make a new tool with a damage type in the tool slot, it only uses the tool as a weapon if you don't have any valid guns.

However, you could probably make a gun with melee range and high damage output, but it would require ammo.
Been considering making a plasma blade mod for a while.

Your right. The ammo could have some insane amount of "health" so that you will (probably) only ever have to make one.

Your right. The ammo could have some insane amount of "health" so that you will (probably) only ever have to make one.
Note that the ammo determines the damage and durability, while the weapon determines the range and attack speed.

Maybe a whetstone can be the "ammo". The better quality, the sharper the blade and hence the damage. Whetstones also run out, eventually.

Or, it can be a poison vial or an enchanted item. These also run out.
