I thought my Factorio updated to 12.9

I had started Factorio up some hours ago, but then left the computer without opening Factorio's window.

When I came back to the computer, I saw an update window. I just glanced on it, assuming 12.9 had come out. So I clicked "Update" or whatever the button says.

Then a few minutes later I saw a long-ass list of patch notes, starting with 12.8, then 12.7, 12.6, going all the way down to 11.something. Nothing about patch 12.9, nor anything here in the forums.

Why did my Factorio want to update? What has changed? This is spooky!

So Praise Oxyd for the idea there was 12.9 Update. Blame HanziQ that it never actually happen ?

It was only an update to the scenario pack, but not the core for me...

Yes, that's more like it. Once .9 manages to get out, you know who to thank. And if it never does, you know who to blame.

That's the most likely explanation, yes. I didn't read the text in the window, I just assumed it was 12.9 coming out, since it's the middle of the week, and there's a bug that bothers a lot of people so a patch is kinda due.
