[0.12.8] No durability display
[0.12.8] No durability display
I have small issue - when I mouse over a tool or armor there is a Durability string but no numerical values below it.
Anyone else seen this?
I removed all the mods and started new game - still present.

Can't reproduce. What language are you using for Factorio? Did you mess with the locale files in data/core/locale?
Re: [0.12.8] No durability display
That is really strange. I can't reproduce it. Can you post your log file and your operation system/hardware specification?
Re: [0.12.8] No durability display
I'm running Windows 10 with following specs:
i7-4790K, Radeon R9 280X 3GB, 12GB RAM.
Using latest drivers for GPU.
Attaching one of logs to the post - I didn't change anything in locale files. I'm running game in english.
I had a problem earlier with locales due to unpacking zipped version of Factorio when auto-updater failed at some point. I removed some unnecessary locales and recently updater was working properly.
Edit:
I downloaded a zip file and comparison shows I have quite a few files in base/locale/en while in zip there is only one file there. Removing those additional files didn't help.

Re: [0.12.8] No durability display
So what locale are you using? Can you try downloading the .zip version again, unpacking it to some other directory and see if you can reproduce it in this freshly-downloaded version?
Re: [0.12.8] No durability display
Did the same as above (in the edit) with core/locale/en and removed all additional cfg's there and problem is gone.
It seems that files in locale directories can break stuff but they are ignored by the updater?
Deleted whole data directory and unpacked fresh one just in case.

I'm little bit lost here. Does it work properly when you use the fresh install?orzelek wrote:Did the same as above (in the edit) with core/locale/en and removed all additional cfg's there and problem is gone.

Yes - problem is gone and durability has the numbers now.kovarex wrote:I'm little bit lost here. Does it work properly when you use the fresh install?orzelek wrote:Did the same as above (in the edit) with core/locale/en and removed all additional cfg's there and problem is gone.

The added files in locale directories caused the problem. I'm assuming they existed in previous versions but didn't get deleted at some point.

Re: [0.12.8] No durability display
I didn't make a list - there were various files with cfg extension in the directory next to the base.cfg file. I checked and I had them only in the en locale folder in both core and base locale folders. I can try to recover some of them to check the names.Oxyd wrote:What files were those?orzelek wrote:Yes - problem is gone and durability has the numbers now.kovarex wrote:I'm little bit lost here.
