LAN Multiplayer

Is there a way to do multiplayer directly though Factorio (not using Hammach/Evolve) when my friend and I are connected to the same Wifi? Would the IP adress be the one found by googling "what is my ip adress?" Thanks in advance for your help.
It would be great if you could point me to some tutorial for 'direct' multiplayer over LAN.

Yes, you just need to find your internal ip address on the wifi network, if you're on the same wifi.
It should be of the format 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x.
Googling your ip shows your external ip, which you need for connections over the internet.

Under windows you can look in the network settings or run ipconfig in the console (cmd).
Under linux run the command ifconfig in the terminal.

Then one of you has to start a multiplayer game in Factorio and the other one needs to Connect to game and enter the ip address of the host (the one who started the multiplayer).

Ayo so basically the 'host' would need to go in the CMD of windows and type 'ipconfig' and find the local ip address of his pc on the network and you will get something that looks like this

In this case my local ipv4 address is 192.168.0.94
Then you have him type that local IP into his multiplayer connect dialog

I really hope that Factorio simplifies this process to make it like LAN System in Minecraft; All you do is click multiplayer and all available games appear.
