Alien massacre

Ideas that are too old (too many things have changed since) and ones which won't be implemented for certain reasons or if there are obviously better suggestions.

After exploring quite a bit I've learned that the spawners that generate when you get near don't unload so now when I'm attacked I am attacked by waves of literally 50 or more creepers at a time (I'll add a pic if you want proof :)) and I was wondering; why not make it so that creepers drop artifacts? sort of like tower defense games where you get some money for each enemy killed, you could get the artifacts and they could be used not only for research but also for currency?(have an alien shop that spawns like creeper bases?)

While we're talikng aliens maybe add more to the "alien technology" research tree:
ex. Lazer rifle-->requires artifacts to make and to power
Conduits-->buildings that act like boilers but instead of burning coal for power it burns artifacts (it would be the weakest form of alien energy)

p.s.It's easy to get lost while looking for spawners, I suggest a gps that works by communicating with the radars :D

I second this motion, with the caveat that the creepers only have a low chance to drop artifacts, meaning that the fastest way to gain artifacts remains "adventuring".

Map is planned.
Drops are possible, but I'm not sure about it, that way, you would just make few laser turrets and belts and it would create infinite supply of resources, but maybe it is not bad idea, hard to tell.

I like the idea of an automated alien slaughter and juice extraction machine :-D All in the name of science, of course.

I thought about this actually this morning.

At first I thought, rare artifacts would be cool. Though, the problem is artifacts themselves are too valuable.

I recommend a new item called 'artifact component' which can be used to craft alien artifacts.

Well, getting free artifacts looks overpowered a little. But maybe make new creeper, rarer than normal, like 1/10 or more but later in game. Should be stronger, maybe ranged or more health? Anyway, they should drop like alien essence that you can throw into... don't know, like alien compressor and for 10 of them you can get artifact. Alien compressor technology should be expensive and reqire some alien artifacts to research. That will be balanced way of getting little bit more artifacts to make those shiny rocket defence stations :)

You know i was also thinking of this but i feel that they should be available throughout the game from creepers and the drop rate should be like a 1% or .5% chance rate
The more complicated the game the better
