hello all
As everyone, when my base began to be quite big, i got attacked by more and more bitters ...
So, as soon as i got solar energy, i just put a load of panels and accumulators too, ans stop my full base, taking back everything, except from my ammunition production line.
As i fully stoped polluting, shouldn't the bitters stop attacking me?
Of course it won't be right away, but, theorically, as i'm not polluting AT ALL anymore as i destroyed my full base and put in in crates but towers for defense, will the bitters flow slowly decrease or not ?
ty for answers.
what happens if i stop polluting ?
Re: what happens if i stop polluting ?
I believe power generation isn't the only source of pollution, mines, assemblers and furnaces also generate pollution. So you won't be free of pollution unless you only generate so much as the trees can clean up.
Ignore this
Re: what happens if i stop polluting ?
Yes, when you produce less pollution, the natives should attack you less. Every chunk (32 square tiles) "consumes" a bit of pollution every second. On top of that the trees consume pollution as well. And finally every spawner consumes pollution that eventually produces a "raged' biter.
Re: what happens if i stop polluting ?
I fully destroyed my bases, even furnace, and mines.
What is left => electric arms
3 assembling machines doing ammo using stored metal plates
solar panels and accumulators
towers :p
i presume the pollution level should drastically decrease, as i only have 3 assembling machines creating pollution...

Re: what happens if i stop polluting ?
it's been already 6 hours since i stopped polluting, and creep waves don't seems too slow down ... but no increase too ...
how long should it take ?

Re: what happens if i stop polluting ?
Oh, it should actually be like couple of minutes I'd say. Can you check what the pollution values are ? You can see the pollution on the map:
1. Open the map
2. Press ALT (now you should see the red squares for the polluted areas)
You can also see the precise values if you (still in the map in alt mode) press F7.
So my question is: is the pollution still there?

Re: what happens if i stop polluting ?
Indeed, there is more pollution at all...
Yet, no decrease in attacks ...
Does it mean i need to destroy all the spawners that have been touched by previous pollution to be safe again ?
Shouldn't the game theorically make the aliens be neutral again automatically ?

Re: what happens if i stop polluting ?
Maybe this is related to some of the bugs fixed for 0.7.2.
What is your evolution factor (you can get it by printing (ctrl-v works) into console:
Or you can provide the save.

Code: Select all
game.player.print(game.evolutionfactor)
Re: what happens if i stop polluting ?
from what i see, the problem may come from here, game says "unknow key evolution factor"
i'm in free game btw, not in a scenario.

Re: what happens if i stop polluting ?
i kinda have the same problem. i researched the car technology and drove it around to explore the map.
in the areas were i drove ther still is polution that won't disapear (and its about 2 houre ago since i drove ther (real-time))
maby becaus ther are not alot of trees ther ? i tought pollution would disapear by its self whit some sort of time/ratio (someone told me -0.008 per chunk)
