When an entity isnt operable it shows "far away"
When an entity isnt operable it shows "far away"
When an entity is set as not operable by lua code, it shows as if it wasnt in reach of the player, with a red rectangle, im not sure if this is a bug or not, but it is quite ugly :s
Re: When an entity isnt operable it shows "far away"
Hm, it might be confusing, but what kind of color/indicator should it have?
Re: When an entity isnt operable it shows "far away"
I think that blue, as other entities is fine, because the color sistem seems to me like an indicator for if you reach the entity or not.kovarex wrote:Hm, it might be confusing, but what kind of color/indicator should it have?
And im not sure about this, but I think thats how it is explained in the tutorial.
Re: When an entity isnt operable it shows "far away"
If you decided to go for a different color for non-operable entities, I'd say orange or yellow would be ideal.
But then, perhaps that's the color that out of reach entities should be instead of red.
A better way to think of this might be to have them show a box the same color as enemy entities, as they shouldn't be operable either, one would think.
Just my suggestion.

This could be good if non operable entities were used frequently, but they arent really used much.n9103 wrote:If you decided to go for a different color for non-operable entities, I'd say orange or yellow would be ideal.

Re: When an entity isnt operable it shows "far away"
We discussed this a a bit, and we decided, that red means that you can't operate it. The reason can be both the distance or far away. As not operable is only in special missions it is not so often to have special color for that.
