This sounds reasonable, but could lead to a problem if your inventory is full - the newly-assigned blueprint will have nowhere to go.

Regarding the case of the full inventory, wouldn't just dropping it on the ground be a feasible solution, similar to cancelling a queued manual assembly task with a full inventory?

I think the suggestion is a little redundant, because blueprints are being replaced with a blueprints book, they all get stored within this item.
