if anything I'm willing to use RSO, I'd prefer if the experience is as vanilla as possible - I'm a bit concerned that using mods will 1) increase the administration needed from my side & 2) prevent random new players from dropping in as they first have to get the mods sorted.DRBLN wrote:Like galactic trade?

Personally I don't see servers stable enough for mods yet . If and when the game is no longer p2p for servers then I'm all for mods as less of a hassle. Even better clients downloading server mods on join would be the icing on the cake.

Well, it was fun while it lasted
Unfortunately, my slow internet connection and slow laptop made it less feasible.
Plus, for some reason I kept desyncing.

My hopes and dreams...nooooo. Eventually I hope they do. Not saying it needs to be done anytime soon hell maybe even after release but no longer p2p would make mp soooooooooooooo much better. Mods keep games alive and mp makes most of them better. Want to make a race track in factorio and race yours friends? I do. Only problem is when you're across the world from your friend. Doesn't make those races very fun. I'd prefer my friend to lag out by himself than take me down with him. I'm Up for RSO and FARL if you want to go in that direction but big map will send longer so it might be a bit annoying to play.

Also - consider adding RailTanker mod - transporting oil in barrels is a PITA...

As for the console commands... it's not a server in this regard, ie the console is yours, and since I cannot control your client I can not disable the console - this is a limitation I hope will be explored and hopefully fixed soon.
The server is monitored using my init script https://github.com/Bisa/factorio-init and should have been restarted once it detected the crash - but please refrain from messing about if you can

And your script worked greated and was up extremely quickly!

You can disable commands upon startup of the server, but i think that is only if you are running the server the normal way :/
