Crash, opengl out of memory

I had not played in a couple of months, fired up Factorio and started getting OPENGL errors.

system win10 64b
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
32GB RAM
Nvidia RTX 3070 8GB

Are you specifically telling the game to run using OpenGL over the default DirectX? If you are, try setting it back to DirectX and see if the issue resolves itself.

Typically unless someone is having other problems DirectX (on Windows) is always preferred.

I split this off an old duplicate of 65323, so this might be the reason they are forcing opengl.

*Updated: thank you for the help; I have no idea why it was going to GL, because that was not set as a config within Steam. However, I forced it into DirectX and it hasn't crashed so far - we'll see.

No - at least, I haven't done anything to try to force it to do so. I presume that can be modified to go default
